01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Cast in a warm glow among the residential streets of Kita-Koiwa, kissaten Kikan welcomes patrons with the aroma of beans roasted right on the premises. Alongside the signature Kikan Blend, the single-origin menu spans rich, full-bodied Colombian, smoothly bitter Brazilian, and the mellow, rounded roast notes of Mandheling. For something cooler, there is a refreshing iced coffee as well as an aromatic iced yuzu tea.

In the morning hours, the traditional breakfast set is a staple choice, pairing toast and boiled egg salad with hot or iced coffee or tea. The unadorned pairing of freshly toasted bread and egg makes for an easygoing, comfortable start to the day.

Later in the day, light meals take over with plates such as meat sauce spaghetti, Japanese-style mentaiko spaghetti, and pilaf, each served with coffee or tea. Cheese toast and ham toast are also available as drink sets, serving well for a quick lunch or an afternoon pause. For a nostalgic kissaten treat, guests can opt for a cake set or an ice cream float.

Antique speakers fill the interior with gentle music, creating an unhurried setting that caters naturally to solo visitors looking for quiet time. Amid the scent of roasting coffee, Kikan offers an inviting space to settle in and step away from the everyday rush.
